Such an important article. You bring out the choices Israel's leaders face and the potential consequences of each in a way that clarified why we can't just go and take out every significant site right now like so many of us want to see.

Thank you Sheri and Ciska for your comments. My initial reaction too was that the smartest thing would be to go after all the nuclear sites now. But upon reflection, I saw that there were many sides to the issue - military, political, strategic. Meanwhile, I suspect that while Israel deliberates and Iran worries that the IDF is continuing to degrade Hezbollah's capability to respond effectively and that in Iran it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain an alert status that of necessity probably impacts governmental operations - both not a bad thing. And, of course, another wildcard is whether Israel has any special means (it has alluded to that) that might include technology or internal sabotage by groups opposing the regime.
